Melisa Aller was born and lives in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (Argentina). Filmmaker and visual artist. She holds a degree in Political Science (University of Buenos Aires) and studied Film and Video (CIEVYC). She is a specialist in social and gender issues. She has held experimental film workshops with Claudio Caldini and Ernesto Baca. She works with the super 8 format as her speciality, filming and editing everything in camera, doing frame by frame, without any digital intervention. In 2015, she filmed her first feature film in Super 8, tackling the Trxnsexual condition, and edited in camera chronologically using 22 Super 8 film rolls, spliced together. Her short and feature length films have been selected and awarded in festivals and exhibitions in the United States, Canada, China, Taiwan, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Spain, Poland, England, Germany, Italy, India, Guatemala, Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay and Argentina. She is currently filming her second feature in super 8.
Melisa Aller nació y vive en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (Argentina). Cineasta y artista visual. Es Lic.Prof. en Ciencia Política(Universidad de Buenos Aires) y estudió Cine y Video (CIEVYC). Es especialista en temas sociales y de género. También realizó talleres de cine experimental con Claudio Caldini y Ernesto Baca. Trabaja especialmente en el formato super 8, filmando y editando todo en cámara, realizando cuadro a cuadro, sin ninguna intervención de la digital. En 2015, filmó su primer largometraje en super 8, abordando la condición Trxnsexual, y editado en cámara cronológicamente usando 22 rollos de película super 8, que se empalman entre sí. Sus cortometrajes y largometraje han sido seleccionados y premiados en festivales y exposiciones de Estados Unidos, Canadá, China, Taiwán, Cuba, Puerto Rico, España, Polonia, Inglaterra, Alemania, Italia, India, Guatemala, Colombia, México, Brasil, Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguayy Argentina. Actualmente está filmando su segundo largometraje en super 8.
